Cooking can be a very time consuming and overwhelming experience. In this fast-paced world, we have less and less time and most of the time, we resort to fast food instead of warm and healthy homemade meals. Not many of us have enough time to devote one to two hours a day just for cooking. Or maybe you're a stay-at-home mom and you have the time, however, you could use it for your hobbies and doing things that you like other than cooking.
You can eat healthy meals at restaurants, however, this costs significant money, and also time commuting. You can grab fast food, but then you can see your health slowly getting worse, gaining weight, and beginning to see that judging looks from people. You can hire a personal chef, but that would be pretty expensive.... But what if you could buy a personal chef? Well, actually, this is pretty possible. I am talking about a crockpot. With a crockpot or slow cooker, you can just dump in all your ingredients, leave them cooking for as much time as you need, and later enjoy a delicious dinner. Now, you can save time preparing meals. Instead of wasting one to two hours every day cooking, you could just devote one evening a month and prepare meals for the whole month. This is possible and it is an amazing opportunity to save time. After everything is prepared, you just freeze everything in freezer bags until it's time for cooking. Then you just dump it into a crockpot and there you have it, dinner in less than 10 minutes.

If you really want to learn how to do slow cooker freezer meals right, you need to visit a site called Who Needs a Cape. The recipes in this book were all taken from other people's websites, many from the site noted above, and dumped into this book without any attribution to the sources. There are no color pictures, so none of the recipes look very appetizing. Many of the recipes are just plain wrong in that they consist of the instructions to just put everything in the slow cooker at once. Just glance at the owner's guide that came with your slow cooker and you'll realize that's not right. You can't do that with dairy products, for example, and it's not wise with pasta or smaller chunks of potatoes or frozen vegetables. There is no index, so if you're wondering what to do with that pork loin that was on sale you won't be able to look up that ingredient in this book. There is no table of contents, so the book is not divided up into any reasonably searchable categories like chicken, pork, beef, Mexican, soups, stews... I mean, this is minor stuff I would expect from any cookbook, but no thought at all seemed to be put into this book. Is Daniel Cook even a real person?

Crockpot Freezer Meals 2nd Edition 110 Delicious Crockpot Freezer Meals (Audible Audio Edition) Daniel Cook Diane Davis Books Reviews
As do many other "cook ahead" recipe books, this suggests preparing for several meals at once - making a grocery list, prepping, etc. It's really helpful information, but less helpful the more you see it. I like how this suggests freezing the ingredients to put into the crockpot later.. I haven't tried this yet, but it seems like it might work better than making the food first and then freezing it, as that changes the consistency of the food, etc.
I have not tried any of these recipes, mainly because it's a bit overwhelming.. it's just a book with a ton of recipes that seem to have no rhyme or reason. It would be helpful for them to be sorted in some way or another so that it is easier to go through and decide what you want to make. It really is easier just to Google recipes or go to allrecipes.com or something similar where you can put in the ingredients that you are wanting to cook with.
I received a free download of this book in exchange for an honest, unbiased review.
I love this cookbook! jumped at the chance to buy this (I did, however, receive a discount for my honest and unbiased opinion) because it reminded me of "Dream Dinners," which was this expensive place you could go to (with friends, if you liked), to prepare all your meals for the month in advance. With different financial circumstances then, I paid a fortune month after month. This cookbook offers a lot of advantages over that, and it costs less than half the ingredients of one of the Dream Dinners meals. When I went to that place, I always thought to myself, "why don't I just do this at home?" However, the problem was not having the recipes. There, you only got a certain number of recipes to choose from each month, so until you amassed enough recipes and cataloged them yourself, it would be difficult to pull a month of meals together. It would also be very limiting in terms of what your options would be. Were I to do that on my own, then, I would have had to serve the same thing every month.
This cookbook solved that problem. Nowadays, I only cook in the crockpot. I don't use my oven or stove at all. And I'm a very lazy cook. If a recipe says "sear the meat in a skillet before placing in the crockpot," I skip that step and just put the raw meet in the pot. So I'm pretty good at finding way to do the least amount of work possible. As others have said, the ingredients are basic, and ones you usually have in the cupboard, so even if you don't prepare a shopping list and cook a month in advance, you can still easily find a recipe for that same evening. I love that you throw it all in frozen also. A problem with many make ahead meal plans is that they still require you to saute something just prior or to throw a sauce together while baking the entree, etc. With these crockpot recipes, there's none of that. You just dump it in, turn the pot on, and come back and serve it. Then, bask in the reviews from your family.
I really like having this book in my kindle. I’m not a busy mom or an overworked wife; I just have a busy mind and struggle often with focusing on things like meal prep and dinner planning. When you struggle with mental illness sometimes the “easiest” things can become the most difficult and things like making sure you have balanced and nutritious food falls by the wayside (unfortunately exacerbating depression) Sure you can probably spend a few hours sifting through pinterest to gather a lot of freezer meal recipes, but I know for me doing that leads to hours of clicking and reading through blog posts only to find that I’m missing key ingredients or have to do extensive prep work. This book takes the guess work out of dinner and brings you helpful EASY recipes that you can spend a small amount of time prepping and have meal choices at your fingertips. There really is nothing like dumping ingredients into a slow cooker, going to work, and coming home to a hot, homemade meal, and a house smelling like you’ve spent all day cooking! You also get a bonus book with smoothie recipes! Smoothies are a great way to add vital nutrients to your diet if you find yourself without the desire to chomp on tons of veggies. This book is easy to read, comes with tips on storage and defrosting, and has quickly become a go-to for my girlfriend and I. I love it!
Favorite Recipes so far Honey Sesame Chicken, Pulled Pork, BBQ Cranberry Chicken. Yum!
I received this product at a discount in exchange for my honest and unbiased review- now before you go scrolling past please know that I would never compromise my integrity for a discounted product. We work hard for our money and we owe it to one another for our honest reviews. I am not afraid to be honest about negative aspects of a product. I just haven’t found one with this! I hope this helped.
